Many headlines and email subject lines make claims:

"HOW TO SLIM DOWN BEFORE SUMMER"

"MAGIC-ROASTER MAKES COOKING EASY"

"SAVE ON A NEW SET OF SNOW TIRES"

And claims are great... assuming you can actually back them up and deliver on your promise.

But there's a little something extra to your claim when you get more specific.

And the 2 easiest ways to get specific about your claims is to use numbers or speed.

Use the numbers to measure the SIZE of your claims, and use words that measure the SPEED of your claim:

"HOW TO DROP 19 POUNDS BEFORE SUMMER IN RECORD TIME"

"MAGIC-ROASTER COOKS YOUR DINNER 3X FASTER"

"SAVE 47% ON A NEW SET OF SNOW TIRES"

These are small additions that make a world of difference because by getting specific, you increase the amount of curiosity.

And because your reader is curious to know exactly "how" your Magic-Roaster cooks dinner 3x faster, they keep reading and get sucked into the body of your ad or email.

So, play around with adding numbers and speeds to your headlines, hooks, and subject lines.

Then make sure you pay off the specific claim very soon in the body of your ad or email.
