How 18 Emails Won Us a Trip to Maui

How 19 Emails Won Us a Trip to Maui (1).jpg

In 18 days, Janae (my wife) and I are heading to Maui for the honeymoon we never had.

And since it was 19 carefully crafted, story-telling, attention-getting, audience-priming, song-singing, hyper-engaging emails that won us this all expense paid trip...

...I thought...

...why not share them with you?!

So, for the next 18 days, you're getting a free mini-course in Symphonic Copywriting Email Composition.

These 18 emails are kind of like an old-school album. Remember those? Actual albums?

Not just a bunch of random songs thrown together.

I'm talking about a classic album like The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," or Pink Floyd's "The Wall."

They don't make albums like that anymore.

And it's really too bad. These were powerhouse albums where each song hooked you on listening to the next.

And that's what a great email sequence like this can do.

Some call them "Soap Opera Sequences." I like that name.

But I call them... "Email Melodramas."

The 1st half of the word "melodrama" comes from the Greek "melos," meaning "song, strain."

The 2nd half of the word also derives from a Greek word, "drama," meaning "theatrical plot."

So, email melodramas are little pieces of musical theater, or opera, stretched over several days.

That's my kind of email!!

Now, keep in mind, these emails were written by me, but in my wife's voice. Why? Because we won this trip by hitting a big sales goal in her network marketing company. The company is called Norwex. It's a great company that makes micro-fiber cleaning cloths and a whole line of toxin-free 'green' cleaning products.

"Keep-in-mind" point #2 -- as you follow our story through these emails, try to see how you can use the stories you tell your friends at dinner parties in your copywriting. You know, the ones you save for when you want to get the biggest "oooohs" and "aaaahs" out of people?

They make for great email melodramas.

As I progress through this free little mini-course, I'll draw your attention to various techniques I use as well as a super effective "Email Melodrama Launch" strategy I've used with these types of emails. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for that.

So... without further ado... here we go.

Cue the music...

EMAIL #1 of 18

Subject: 20 days left to help us take the honeymoon we never had

I turned 19 only 5 weeks before we tied the knot. Doug wasn't much older at 22.

But when it's right, it's right! And it was right!

Aren't we cute?

You heard about the mad cow experience we had a few days later on our almost nonexistent

We've had some great adventures in the last 15 years.

Tune in tomorrow to hear about our nerdy Music Major college student romance. The funny

thing is, I was the main instigator. Not Doug. Which is funny, because I'm usually the shy one.

More tomorrow...

I've been working my fanny off to get us both to Maui for a REAL honeymoon, once and for all.

This is one of the many things I love about working as a Norwex consultant. They have such

fantastic incentive programs.

I've already earned my trip and my flight to Maui.

And I'm getting really close to earning Doug's trip.

Gosh, I want this bad!

I'm $12,838 away from earning Doug's trip. And we have only 20 days left!

Time to get drastic!

Here's what we're going to do.

We're going to have a 1 DAY ONLY, "Shop Like A Consultant" Sale. You can get anything in the whole Norwex catalog for 35% OFF!!

This sale will be on Monday, June 25th, from 6 a.m. until Midnight, mountain time.

In addition to this monster sale, I'm going to have a HUGE giveaway prize when I hit every $1,000 mark between $0 and my goal of $12,838.

I have over 20 parties going on this month too. The orders from these parties are going toward the $12,838 goal.

I'm so excited! Like, so, so, SSSOOOO EXCITED!!

To let me know you're interested in taking advantage of this 35% off Sale, please click the link below and enter your email address. I'm putting together a list of interested people so I can reward you even more!

You guys are the best!

Have a great germ-free day!

P.S. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow morning for the next installment of the Pew Family story. Find out what first attracted Doug to me. And no, it wasn't my looks or personality. It was something I was holding in my hands and under my chin...
